Joey — Privacy Policy

Joey (“we”, “us”) is a link-saving app that stores your saved links and collections locally on your device. This policy explains what we collect and why. Please read it alongside our Terms of Use.

What we collect

• Your saved links and collections — stored locally on your device, and never on our servers. If you enable cloud backup, they are copied to your own Google Drive or iCloud (see below).
• Account information — if you sign in, we store your email address and the sign-in provider (Apple or Google) to identify your account. Sign-in is optional and only required for cloud backup and Pro subscriptions.
• Subscription information — if you purchase Pro, the app store (Apple/Google) processes the payment. We receive a transaction identifier and subscription status to unlock Pro features. We never receive your full payment card details.
• Link previews — when you save a link, we fetch a title/thumbnail for it. The link URL is sent to our servers to generate this preview and may be cached.
• Diagnostic data — basic, non-identifying logs to keep the service running.

We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

How we use your data

• To provide the app's core features (saving, organizing, and previewing links).
• To back up and restore your data when you enable cloud backup (to your own Google Drive or iCloud).
• To verify and manage your Pro subscription.
• To respond to feedback you send us.

Cloud backup

Cloud backup is off by default. When enabled, your links and collections are copied to the destination you choose (Google Drive or iCloud) so you can restore them on another device. You can disable backup and delete backed-up data at any time from within the app.

Third parties

• Supabase — authentication and database hosting.
• Apple / Google — sign-in, in-app purchases, and (if selected) cloud storage.
• Google Cloud — hosts our backend service.

These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy terms.

Data retention and deletion

You can delete your account at any time from Account → Delete account. This permanently removes your profile and subscription records from our servers and deletes your authentication identity. Data stored locally on your device is removed when you delete the app. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active subscription — manage that in your Apple/Google account settings.

Children

Joey is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Contact us at hoashendev@gmail.com to exercise them.

Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
